It’s a fair question and one worth answering.
After all, the global pandemic has everyone trying to figure out ways to keep their businesses afloat during the hardest economic times in decades.
There are tried and true methods of digital marketing that have been proven to work. It’s a matter of figuring out what’s going to work best for your business, tweaking it to get it just right, and watch your business explode in growth!
But let’s just pause for a second and make sure we’re all on the same page.
So, it’s true – digital marketing can be the life blood of your business. But there’s more to it than a simple yes or no answer, so I’m going to dig a little deeper and cover the question a little deeper along with the natural next questions you’re most certainly going to have.
Can digital marketing save your business?
So many businesses in 2021 are struggling and dying.
The pandemic is a big part of that.
But in some instances, all the pandemic has done is accelerated what may have been inevitable for some businesses causing them to shut their doors faster.
It’s not pretty, but it’s true.
And it doesn’t have to be that way.
In times like these, where there are huge challenges, there are also huge opportunities.
And figuring out how to seize the opportunity is the responsibility of every business owner.
It could be that you’ve made big mistakes your business in the past.
The good thing is that now you have the opportunity to correct them.
And there has never been a better opportunity than right now to get on the right path.
And going all in on digital marketing is one of the best things you can do to save your business.
There are several different aspects to digital marketing:

But this isn’t something where you want to just throw it all against a wall and see what sticks.

I’ve got friends in Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Europe, Australia and all kinds of other places that I would never have ever met without the internet.

Digital marketing doesn’t have to cost you anything!
Yep – you read that right.
You can get started doing digital marketing for your business online for free.
And you don’t have to overcomplicate the process either.
It starts by simply figuring out who your dream customer is, what they’re struggling with, and how you can help them.
Then you figure out where they’re hanging out online and you engage with them.
You answer their questions.
Comment on their posts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
You build name recognition and show up everywhere.
Do it right and you’ll have your sales funnel full of your dream customers in no time at all.
What are the advantages of digital marketing?
The biggest advantage of digital marketing is that it removes boundaries and restrictions.
You can connect with people who fit your dream customer profile locally in your own area, and also on the other side of the country.
And even on the other side of the world!
There are no boundaries or borders that stop you from reaching your dream customer, wherever they may be.
It gives you the ability to stay in touch with your dream customers directly using email and social media, where you can continue to build relationships, demonstrate your value, and build trust.
And of course, it should go without saying that it opens up all new revenue streams for your business where there previously was nothing.
What are the disadvantages of digital marketing?
Here’s the deal:
There really is no disadvantage to digital marketing.
As with learning anything new, it takes a little time to get it up and running. But once you’ve got that in place, you can start sending leads to your business on autopilot.
There may be some technology challenges you’ll need to overcome, but you can figure it out yourself, as so many others have done.
Or you could find an expert to help you implement what you’ve learned here.
It just depends on how much time you have and how much budget you’ve got.
If you’ve got time, then learning how to do it yourself is the way to go.
There’s something to be said for at least learning the basics of how things work so you can ask better questions so you can get better answers.
Or if you’ve got the budget for it, you can “find the who, not the how”.
What I mean by that is that you can accelerate your path by hiring an expert to build out the technology pieces you need in order to get things in place faster.
Either way, that’s really it when it comes to disadvantages. The internet has connected everyone everywhere who wants to be connected, so the hard work has already been done.
The only thing that’s left at this point is to choose the path that’s going to work best for you where you’re at right now, and then take the next step.
Is digital marketing the future?
Can we have a little real talk for just a second?
Here’s something I’ve learned that’s a hard reality: Just because your business is online doesn’t mean it won’t die. But if your business isn’t online, you’re almost certainly going to see your business die.
Sure, there may be an exception here or there for a very niche-type business that doesn’t have to have an online presence.
But even then those businesses would benefit by establishing themselves online.
But we’re not talking about the outliers.
We’re talking about the vast majority of businesses.
And if you’re a traditional business that isn’t online already, and you’ve managed to survive this far, first of all congratulations!
You’ve done what few have been able to do.
But we’re playing the long game here, and the future of business is online.
If you just look at some of the biggest businesses in the world, they’re all online businesses.
The future of all business is online business. And smart businesses are figuring out how the digital marketers are building and growing online businesses and implementing those strategies and tactics with great success.
