Hey, everybody. Welcome to Adventures in Digital Marketing. My name is Rob Orr. I am your host. Today, I’m doing my podcast via Facebook Live. You’ll be able to see this in the Digital Marketing Mastery group.

If you decide that you want to come back and watch the video, it’s my beautiful, shining, bearded face as I am hanging out my office. My dogs around here somewhere.

I wanted to talk about a couple things real quick as far as what’s going on in the group and some things that are coming up that I think you are going to definitely want to be involved in. I’ve alluded to this.

I’ve talked about it on the podcast before, but I definitely want to talk to you about the WordPress website challenge that is coming up. Basically, the idea for this is I’m going to be hosting a challenge where we’re going to go from nothing to a fully configured, fully set up and ready to go self-hosted WordPress site.

So if you are starting a blog, or if you are starting a website for your business, or you’re trying to take your brick and mortar business online for the first time, whatever the case may be, this is going to be the thing that you are definitely going to want to pay attention to.

Anyway, that’s coming up. It’s going to be over the course of several weeks. Like I said, I know that I’ve talked about this before, but it’s definitely something that is starting to pick up some steam.

So I definitely want you to keep your eyes out for that. Over the next several days, I’ll share the URL with you so that you will be able to go in and sign up for the waiting list so that you can know when that actually rolls out.

It’s just so many times so many questions that people have when it comes to trying to start an online business and one of the key pieces— if you remember I talked about it The Seven Pillars of Digital Marketing that I talked about the other day that one of the key pieces of that is having your own home base online that is your space that you control that is your brand and is completely within your control.

That means you build spokes out from there and go out to other properties. We’re not going to get into all that today. That’s just a little bit of a teaser about what is going to be coming up on Thursday.

Now, one of the things that I’ve been wanting to do. I’m still trying to get used to doing this whole Facebook Live thing myself and just being used to talking to you guys this way.

It is definitely an adjustment. Once you get used to it, it’s not so bad. One of the ways that I’m going to be doing that is I’m going to be doing my very best to come on here live several more times in a week.

One of those is going to be scheduled content. That’s something that I’ve been kicking around for a little while on this idea of scheduling out some things where I’m going to come in and I’m going to be teaching about different topics and different tools and different resources.

Things that you would be able to find to make your business work well online. I’m really excited about this. Last week, in the Facebook Live that I did on the first Thursday and it’s going to be Thursdays that time slot. The plan is to do Thursdays either at 4pm or 5pm Eastern Time depending on what my schedule will allow.

Because sometimes, that’s just not going to work. It becomes more challenging when my schedule doesn’t work. Anyway, the plan will be to do Thursday’s 4 or 5pm. I’ll let you know in the group what the plan is for that scheduled time and what we’ll be talking about.

This week, on Thursday, we will be talking about the first pillar in a little bit more detail for the Seven Pillars of Digital Marketing. Then the first one which was having your own home base online. Why I think that’s important?

If you do not have a home base that you control, why that means you’re in a lot of trouble. You’re in a lot of danger. Maybe not so much trouble, but you’re definitely probably in a place that you don’t want to be because there are some things that can happen to you if you don’t control your space and you’re not working on building a brand.

We’ll talk about some examples of people that are doing really well with that and where my inspiration for this idea came those kinds of things. That’s really what I wanted to get into today is to just to really tell you about those two things to talk about the upcoming WordPress website challenge and why you want to be keeping an eye out for that.

Then also, the weekly scheduled content that’s going to be coming out here in the Digital Marketing Mastery channel as well. Like I said, I’m going to be coming in and just giving you guys tons of content about stuff that you need to be paying attention to for your online business. I you don’t know who I am, and you don’t know what I do, my name is Rob Orr.

I am a web designer and developer. I am a web developer who’s built all kinds of different websites. I’ve built huge websites. I’ve built small websites. It’s what I do all day, every day.

It is something that I think that not only people that are just getting started because that’s really where my passion is, but people that are experienced in the online space. If you are someone who is more up to speed on what’s going on and you have your own website or you already started, you will have the opportunity to hear from me with the things that I’ve learned as a web developer and how I have used the things that I have done as a web developer to help businesses explode and growth with their websites.

The things that I’ve done that have optimized in efficiency because when you’re trying to quantify a value proposition, there’s the hard cost that’s associated that this particular solution costs less than this. Then there’s also the soft cost which are increases in efficiencies and those kinds of things which may not always be as apparent.

One of the things I think that I’ve been really successful with, with some of the websites that I’ve built is some of those soft costs. We have helped companies to save enormous amounts of money and enormous amounts of time with some of the projects that we built and just optimizing their new websites that we built for them.

We’ve helped launch also subscription box stores. We have helped launch companies that are doing big 7, 8, and 9 figure a year businesses, 40 or 50 or more employees that have national reach. We’ve helped them be able to make their impression on their market in a way that they had never seen before.

All of these things have resulted in massive improvements in terms of what they have received in terms of the efficiencies that they’ve been able to realize by some of the work that me and my team have done. That gives you a little bit of a synopsis about who I am and what I do and why I think that talking about these things here in this channel is going to be helpful to you.

So if you are an experienced, online entrepreneur or you’re just getting started, I’m going to have something for you here that’s going to be helpful in these Facebook Live sessions that are really hope that you will take the time to watch. Hopefully, you’ll find something useful.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for this episode. Usually I have been recording my podcast in my car on the way into the office in the morning. I intentionally skipped that today because I wanted to get on and just do this as a Facebook Live so that we could see each other face to face even though I don’t think there are very many people online right now and our group here, Digital Marketing Mastery is still pretty small, but that’s okay.

I’m grateful for every person who’s in this group. I’m glad that you’re here. We’re going to take our small group. We are going to do awesome things online with our digital marketing experiments and our digital marketing adventures.

We’re going to do cool stuff. It’s going to be fun and ultimately goal is for all of us to grow in our ability to earn money online and to build the freedom and the margin into our life that we’re really looking to have.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for today. I hope you guys are doing great. A couple places also that you may want to check out my YouTube channel. You can get there by going to roborr.tv. You can find the Facebook group if for some reason that you’re not already in it.

You can go to DigitalMarketingMasteryHQ.com and get that there. Then obviously the podcast is on iTunes. We’re on Spotify. We are on Google podcasts. We’re in all of the different places where you would normally find a podcast.

You’ll find all you got to do is search for Adventures in Digital Marketing and you will find me. Anyway, like I said, hope you guys are doing awesome. Thank you for tuning in.

Hopefully, if you catch us on the replay just hit me up. Give me a hashtag replay or something like that so I know that you are tracking with me and you’re excited about it too.
