Adventures In Digital Marketing Episode 33

I look back at what 2019 has been so far this year and talk about the things I’m grateful for as we get prepared for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, and why I do the things I do. I also talk about what I’m doing for you guys for my Black Friday special offer with a very limited bonus that you can grab if you do it quick! This is a good one – don’t miss it!

Hey, welcome back everybody to Adventures in Digital Marketing. I’m Rob Orr. I am your host. Today is Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving here in the US. It’s that day where we get our families together and do all that fun stuff and express gratitude and all those kinds of things.

I wanted to start this one off just by talking about gratitude a little bit. There are other aspects of this big holiday weekend that are much more commerce related. We’ll, talk about that later. Talk a little bit about gratitude.

It’s a thing really, I think more than anything else that keeps me going. Because the thing is if you’re not grateful for what you have and what you’re doing and what you have been blessed with in your life. It’s hard to be able to do the hard work that needs to be done to do anything successfully. Right?

So just wanted to talk about a couple things that have been going on in my life. First and foremost, and it’s kind of the cliché at our family gathering where everybody gets together in a circle and goes around and talks about what they’re grateful for.

The number one thing that everybody always talks about is family. At least in our gathering, and you never I mean some people may not enjoy those family get together, some people do. The reality is for me, my family is the reason that I do what I do. I love my wife and my daughter with every fiber of my being.

I’ve got it in my notes for the daily things that I review and my morning routine when I do my morning routine. One of the things that I do in that is a gratitude practice where I just remind myself of the things that I’m grateful for. My wife and my daughter are always the very first thing.

They are such a blessing to my life. They are the reason that I do what I do. They’re the reason that I work hard. They’re the reason that I am working on my business. They are the reason that I try to take care of myself and be healthy. They just sit at the center of my world. I am profoundly grateful for them.

I literally thank God every day for bringing my wife into my life and what a blessing she’s been. We don’t have a perfect marriage by any stretch of the imagination, but I couldn’t imagine doing this life without her. Then my 14 year old daughter who is a teenager through and through and all that comes with that.

She doesn’t know how amazing she is. She doesn’t know how beautiful she is. She doesn’t know how talented and gifted and smart– quantifiably by the way, I will say she has been rocking our world with her natural intellectual abilities.

I’ll just leave it at that. She’s brilliant and beautiful. She’s just a good kid. I’m incredibly grateful for her. Being a parent is probably the best thing that ever happened to me. She is the light of my life.  I thank God for her every day.

Then, one big thing for us this year as a family has been related to health. We’ve had some challenges in our family. I’ve been reminded recently of a couple different things about how you only have one body so you need to take care of it.

You always need to be trying to watch out for yourself and love yourself for lack of a better expression. Because it’s very easy to take health for granted. I’m really grateful that my wife is healthy, that my daughter is healthy. Then I am healthy and we’re all doing better.

Like I said, we’ve had some challenges and some scares this year for different things. As we look back at what 2019 has been thus far, we have it better than most.  I’m grateful for the incredible blessings that we have in our lives to live, where we live, to be able to do the things that we do.

As far as online entrepreneurship goes to kind of segue into the next part is– obviously, I live in the United States and we have amazing opportunities to do pretty much whatever we want as far as businesses is concerned. When it comes to being grateful that’s another one of the things that I’ve got on my list.

This isn’t about politics or anything like that. For the most part, I am made almost physically ill by the political talk. You can rest assured that this isn’t going in that direction. Just the opportunities and the freedoms that we have.

Now the United States isn’t perfect. We’ve got a lot of big problems right now. Bigger probably now than at any point I can remember my life, but just from the opportunity to build something for yourself and start a business.

Starting an online business, to have the technology available to you that’s affordable, to have the legal ability to do these things. It’s something that I remind myself that there’s a lot of people and some people that listen to this podcast may live in other parts of the world where they don’t have those kinds of freedoms or they’re much more entangled or just the groundwork to be able to get off the ground and get running with a personal business may not be there. I don’t take any of that stuff for granted in my life.

Because I know that living in the United States despite all of its very clear and obvious issues on all kinds of fronts is a blessing. To be able to live here, to start a business, to have the freedom to do that, and to be successful with it. It’s amazing.

These are the things that I’m thinking about gratitude for, what I’ve got in my life here at on the eve of this Thanksgiving holiday. These are the things that I’m thinking about. Obviously, I’ve mentioned the business, but in the United States, this is a big holiday weekend.

Over the past, I guess 30 or 40 years maybe longer who knows, but the Friday following Thanksgiving has become this traditional shopping holiday. Now, in the age of the internet, there are lots of things that happen for really good deals as far as Black Friday goes and those kinds of things.

Just to let you know, I mentioned it yesterday on my podcasts that I have a Black Friday deal that is coming up.  I want to tell you just a little bit about that.

The page for that will be up today will turn it on probably Thursday night, Friday morning. Basically, one of the things that I’ve been working hard on lately as you know if you’ve been following this podcast at all is the learning materials that I’ve been working on.

Promoting to help people get started with their own self hosted WordPress site to be able to build and launch and get past the technology hurdles. My Black Friday special is going to revolve around that where it’s going to be everything that I’ve created. It’s going to be The Ultimate WordPress Blueprint book.

It’s going to include the digital copy and a physical copy. It’s going to include my WordPress checklist which has been extremely popular. Probably it is by far the most downloaded of the resources that I’ve created so far.

Then I’ve also including in that my Website Content Blueprint which is a guide on how to create the different pages that you need in your website depending on what kind of website that you’re starting.

Then it’s also going to include all of the videos from my WordPress website workshop. You’re going to get all of those things and there’s 23 videos or 23 modules. I think there’s 23 videos. There is also included with that The Ultimate Guide on How to Build and Design your Homepage, The Ultimate Guide on How to Build your About Me Page.

I have included also my Ultimate Guide on Website Goals like what are the quantifiable things that you need to be working on for your website and a couple other things that I’ve got in there as well.

Then finally, this is a very limited offer. I’m only going to open this up to probably 10 slots is you can get a one hour one on one coaching session with me to cover any of that stuff to help you with your website. That’s only going to be open for a total of 10 slots because I can only do so much.

There’s only so much time that I have available to do those kinds of things. If you’re interested in getting on board with this, you’re going to have to go to my blog which is http://roborr.net/.

It will be right there on the homepage. In the main header region, there’ll be a button right there that will say something like “Grab your Black Friday deal here” or something like that. You won’t be able to miss it.

It’ll be right there in the main button in the main call to action. You can grab that. The price for that is only $197. It’s an incredible deal. I hope that you jump on that and grab that. Then it will help you to build and launch your own self hosted WordPress site.

That’s what I’ve got for today. I just wanted to talk a little bit about gratitude because gratitude is that that fuel that keeps you moving. It keeps you humble. I think more than anything else. It has been a challenging year and a lot of respects for all of us.

I mean, it’s like Henry Rollins says. He’s an American. He survives and thrives despite what the America tries to do to him. What I take that to me is that living in our world and even though we have lots of blessings. It’s also very challenging. I get that. There are financial challenges. There are social challenges.

There are religious challenges. There are racial challenges. There’s so many challenges that we are presented with every day. It’s our job to survive and thrive inside of that. And what my work is at least in my business is to try to help people to break free of the bondage that comes with a traditional job and to be able to break out and do something on your own and to start to build some freedom into your life by building an online business.

As we sit on the eve of this Thanksgiving holiday, I just challenge you to remember some of the things that maybe you’re taking for granted that you should express gratitude for and maybe just write it down or tell somebody about it tomorrow at your Thanksgiving lunch or dinner or whatever, however your family is going to celebrate that holiday.

Because at the end of the day, as long as we have breath in our lungs, we have the gift of life. We have the opportunity to make something of ourselves in this life and do something with the blessings that we’ve got. Some people obviously have more blessings and others, but that doesn’t change the fact that we’ve got the opportunity to make use of the blessings that we do have to go and do something with it.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for today. I hope that encourages you. I hope that gives you something to think about on this holiday weekend. I will be back tomorrow with another podcast where we are talking about adventures in digital marketing.

That’s all I’ve got for today. Please go and subscribe on iTunes, on Spotify, on Google. All the places where podcasts are available. This podcast is now available. So would love for you to subscribe to the podcast. I hope everybody’s doing great. Y’all take care. We will talk next time. Bye.
