But that begs the question, “why”?

Why is website content so important?

Website content is important because it’s the bread and butter of your online business. It’s the one thing that makes everything on your site work together – the design, the architecture, the branding – all of it.

So it should go without saying that having high quality content is a must.

Having high-quality content on your website helps you attract your dream customer by providing them the answers they’re looking for, entices them to take action by presenting them with the next step to enter into your world by opting in to your lead magnet and can even improve your search rankings.

Makes sense, right?

But did you know that there are seven under-the-radar pages that your website needs?

Whether you’re a blogger, a podcaster, a brick and mortar business or you’re a digital marketer selling info products, the pages I’m going to cover for you today are essential to making your website a success.

If you want to grow your business online then you need to get these pages added to your website.

You only have about 15 seconds to capture someone’s attention and get them to stay on your site, so you have to maximize that incredibly short period of time.

So what do you do to engage these visitors that you’ve fought so hard to win?

Give them something that your competitors aren’t doing and watch your business grow!

Everyone knows they need a lead magnet opt-in page. That’s neither new nor surprising.

But what I see happen so many times is that when people use these lead magnet pages, the next page they send them to is just a simple “thank you” page.

What a waste!

You’ve just had someone engage with your content, give you their email address, and you know they’re interested in seeing what you have to offer.

So instead of just offering a simple “thank you” page, you need to separate the freebie-seekers from the buyers by giving them the opportunity to continue engaging and to go just one step deeper into your world by offering them something to purchase.

The page I’m talking about is called a “tripwire” sales page because it’s a low-priced product that makes whatever it is that they’re learning quicker, easier, and faster with better results.

Even if you don’t know what a quiz funnel page is, there is no doubt you’ve seen them before.

They’re everywhere on Facebook.

These are the quizzes that are supposed to tell you which Harry Potter house you belong to, or what your spirit animal is.

You know – those goofy, but virtually irresistible survey quizzes that virtually everyone loves.

And they’re incredibly engaging!

Once you’ve figured out who your dream customer is you should know exactly what kind of quiz will resonate with them, and just the right questions to ask.

Application funnel page

If you’re doing any kind of done-for-you service whether it’s graphic design, coaching, web development, etc. then having an application funnel page should be at the center of your business website.

The idea of an application funnel page flips the script and instead of you begging them to work with you, they’re begging you to work with them.

An application funnel will also help you sort through the inquiries that you get so you can be sure that you’re only working with your dream customers

Media kit page

This one may sound like it’s a stuffy, corporate press release page, but it’s really not – hear me out.

As you and your business grow you are going to have more and more opportunities to be featured on the platforms of other influencers and creators.

This page gives you the opportunity to easily provide for them all the assets they’re going to need to promote your appearance.

This page should contain assets like a gallery of headshots of yourself, your bio in PDF and HTML formats, and your logo so that you have it all in one place making it easy for them to find what they need so they don’t have to ask you for it.

Interview me page

As your authority and visibility start to grow you’re going to start to attract attention and creators are going to want to have you on their shows.

This page gives them all the information they need to quickly and easily reach out to you so they can have you on their show.

On this page you’re going to set the expectations for what they can expect when they have you on the show, what they need to know about you that they may not know, and key tips on how to get the most out of the interview with you.

This page will have a form on it where you can gather some key information about their show and collect info about their show to help you evaluate if their show is a good fit for you.

You will also want to include a link to your media kit page too so they can grab the digital assets they need to help promote the show and make it a success.

Speaker’s page

You don’t have to think about this page as if you’re someone who’s a professional speaker.

For those of us who don’t have a career in public speaking this page can represent a way to feature your expertise at conferences and other events.

One of the greatest ways for you to spread your message and display your thought leadership is the ability to get in front of eager audiences wanting to hear what you have to say.

And a speaker’s page is a great way to do that.

And if doing public speaking actually is part of your plan then this page is an absolute must-have.

This page makes it easy for people to get right to the point of what it’s like to have you come speak at their event, the topics you cover, the testimonials and social proof of events you’ve spoken at before, and a way to get in touch with you to start the conversation.

Start here page

When someone is new to your site you want to engage them and get them started on the right path immediately and the best way to do that is a ‘start here’ page.

This is a page that will help your visitors find what they’re looking for and provide a great introduction to who you are, what you do, how you help and why they should listen to what you have to say.

Here you want your readers to learn:

  • Who you are and what you do
  • Why you started your site and why it’s important to you
  • Where your readers can find your most popular and best content
  • How they can connect with you via email and social media
  • How they can take the next steps to work with you either via an opt-in or your application funnel page

Next Steps
